Philippa Pearson Garden Design Services

All aspects of garden design and construction are covered. The process from design to finished garden covers these stages:

Initial consultation

Meeting to discuss your requirements and look at your garden or area to be designed. Costs are discussed for the design stage: this covers a separate site visit to measure up and survey, produce concept drawings and final drawings.

This initial meeting is free if you are based within a 25 mile radius of Gamlingay, otherwise a small cost for expenses is charged if you live outside this area.

Design stage 1 - site visit

Once design costs have been agreed, a site visit will look at the size of your garden or area to be designed, take note of levels and existing features. Photographic records are taken.

Design stage 2 - concepts

Concept drawings are produced from information discussed at the initial consultation and from the site visit. Concept drawings are produced for discussion and feedback to ensure that all your requirements are covered and you are happy with the overall idea and design.

Design stage 3 - final drawing

A final drawing is produced working from feedback to the concept drawing. The final drawing will indicate some planting, but not every individual plant. Full planting plans and construction drawings are separate projects and costs.

At this point, you can decide if you want to proceed with the work yourselves or appoint Philippa to project manage the construction, plant buying and placement and finishing off for the garden.

Project Management

Philippa can organise for landscapers to create hard and soft landscaping features for the design. She is an experienced Project Manager and will appoint approved contractors to carry out the work who she will supervise at all stages. Philippa will organise plant buying from reputable suppliers and lays out plants herself in all her designs.

Project Management, construction, plants and planting is a separate cost and can be quoted on after the final design is produced.

An annual plant maintenance plan can be produced.

Design costs vary on the size of the garden or area to be designed. As a rough guide: border designs range from £350, small front gardens from £700 and average-sized back gardens from £850. Project Management is charged at £50 per hour.
